RCM to host Vietnam Veterans Day

Vietnam War Veterans Day is acknowledged on March 29 every year, honoring anyone who served during its 20year time. Since respect and combat support wasn’t immediately given to those who served after the war ended because of the number of deaths, the day was founded in 2017 to finally offer that respect to everyone involved.

4-H Tech Changemakers provide digital workshops

4-H Tech Changemakers provide digital workshops The Clay County 4-H Tech Changemakers have been providing a series of digital workshops at their local Piggott and Rector Public Libraries. Their goal is to help the community thrive by providing information to help close the digital divide while increasing access to in-demand digital skills. Workshops have covered topics on Email Basics, How to Avoid Scams-Phishing, and How to create Microsoft Word Document. These workshops are free and open to everyone. Those attending will learn technical skills for work and personal life.

Tree walk to be held at Piggott museums

A tree walk will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Education Center and the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer Museum and Study Center. This walk is to identify and discuss 15 different types of trees, their origin, history, use and age. This is a joined effort between the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State University. People are encouraged to sign up ahead of time. There is no cost for the program. For more information interested parties may call the museum at 870598-3487.
