Photos of trespassers leads to two arrests

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department reported on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at 3:45 p.m. a deputy received a call that an individual had photographs of trespassers on their property. The caller’s residence is approximately three miles west of St. Francis and four miles north of Piggott. A deputy was en route to the residence and met the vehicle that was photographed at the location. The deputy turned around and stopped the vehicle traveling southbound on 4th Street in Piggott. The deputy made contact with the driver, Kathy Newman, a 57-year old female of Paragould and the passenger, John K. Holmes, a 65-year-old male of Paragould.

Missing Colorado man found deceased Feb. 21

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department reported receiving a call at 7:58 a.m. of a deceased person by the river levee close to the bridge off Highway 90. Upon arrival, workers reported they found a vehicle with a body lying beside the car. The deceased person was Randolph Rodewald, 83-year-old male from Denver, Colo. Rodewald was reported missing on Tuesday morn-ing at the Denver Police Department. In suspicion, the subject got disoriented and went north down the levee about one mile and pulled off in a field and got stuck, and was unable to get himself free. He then got out of the vehicle and fell into a mud puddle beside the car and was unable to get up. Clay County Coroner was on the scene and no foul play was suspected. The body was sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab in Little Rock.

Two Success men arrested on Butler County felony warrants

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department reported on Feb. 23, 2023, at 4:50 p.m. the department arrested 56-year-old Danny Cobb of Success, and 53-year-old James Cobb of Success, on felony warrants out of Butler County MO. The Sheriff’s Department had received the information they were at their mother’s house in Success, Ark. The officer found at the time of the arrest felony drug paraphernalia on Danny Cobb. The Butler County warrants were for two warrants on Danny Cobb for failure to appear for controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug with intent to deliver. James Cobb was arrested for possession of the controlled substance meth. Both subjects were transported to Greene County Sheriff’s Department waiting for extradition out of Butler County Sheriff’s Department Missouri.
