Blood drive planned in Piggott

For the months of March and April, the Piggott Public Library will have a special display on loan from the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum. The display features Pauline Pfieffer, wife of Ernest Hemingway, who was also a journalist. Stop in to see it and learn about an important lady from Piggott’s history.
Morgan Garner of Rector, along with 11 other contestants, will get a chance for the crown at the 2023 Miss Williams Baptist University pageant. The pageant is set for 7 p.m.
Although it is still several weeks away, the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce reminds local residences to begin to make their plans for the annual Piggott City Wide Yard Sale. This year’s sale will be held Saturday, April 1, and sales held that day will not be required to purchase a permit from the city. The City of Piggott has also waived the fee for Friday, March 31. Locations will also be featured on a list, which will be available from the Chamber of Commerce. Consignments are now being accepted for the 48th Annual and Absolute Piggott FFA Auction being held on Saturday, April 1 at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Piggott. Clara Mae Featherston Clara Mae Featherston, 97 of Rector, passed away at the Rector Nursing and Rehab on March 11, 2023. She was born to the late Charlie and Eliza (Stacey) Bland in Rector.
Alvin Leroy Mills Alvin Leroy Mills, 87, of Rector, passed away on March 12, 2023, at the Piggott Community Hospital. Leroy was born to the late Alvin and Rosie (Adams) Mills in Rector.
