An Architecture Watercolor Class entitled “No straight lines required” will be held at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22 with instructor Milo Stephens. Participants are encouraged to bring a photo of any building they would like to use in creating a fun watercolor. The event is $35 per person with attendees bringing their own supplies. A tree walk will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Education Center and the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer Museum and Study Center. This walk is to identify and discuss 15 different types of trees, their origin, history, use and age. This is a joined effort between the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State University. The Rector School District Gifted and Talented Program is asking for student referrals for students in the second through 11th grades. Referral forms may be picked up and returned to the elementary, high school or superintendent’s office. Referred students should display high intellectual ability, task commitment and/or motivation and creative ability. Jerry Lewayne Boyd Jerry Lawayne Boyd, 81, of Boydsville, Ark., passed away April 6, 2023, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark. He was born on September 4, 1941, in Crockett, Ark., and was the son of Claude and Freada (Wall) Boyd.

Marcia Faye Pool Marcia Faye Pool, 71, of Piggott, Ark., passed away April 7, 2023, at Arkansas Continued Care in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born on May 5, 1951, in Piggott, and was the daughter of late of Raymond and Betty (Crossno) Birmingham.
