Rector High School FBLA state qualifiers attended the State Leadership Conference last week held in Little Rock. During the conference students were able to compete against other from all over the state of Arkansas, network, attend leadership workshops, and hear from a motivational speaker, Dr.

Arkansas author, Aubrey Glen Mobley, visited Mrs. Bridgette Branson’s eighth grade Arkansas history students after they read a historical fiction book that the author, Branson’s grandfather, wrote about DeSoto’s trek through the southeastern United States into Arkansas.
Rector Downtown Central will host a Spring Marketplace from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Rec-tor Downtown Park. Approximately 20 local vendors will offer their wares for a spring shopping day. A special treat will be the opportunity to meet Buck, the sweet little kangaroo of A&J Farms.
Hosted by Rector Community Museum on Wednesday, March 29, a program of recognition and honor was presented to a crowd of approximately sixty people who attended for the sole purpose of giving honor and recognition to Gold Star families and Vietnam Veterans on the day set apart nationally for such tribute. Winston Scott Robinson, representing his father Winston P Robinson who was killed in Vietnam, along with Chuck Bridges, representing his brother Joe Bridges who was also killed in Vietnam, spoke to the audience for their families in memory and honor of their loved ones.
New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University (NYITCOM at A-State) is now accepting applications for Project H.E.A.R.T., the college’s “mini-medical school” program for high school students which will be held in June in both Jonesboro and Arkadelphia.
1983 Coach Dennis Adams led his pee wee boys’ basketball team to another victory when they brought home the first place trophy from the Pee Wee Tournament at Delaplaine.
