The University of Central Arkansas at Conway will hold spring commencement Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Farris Center on campus. The times for the ceremonies are as follows: Graduate ceremony, 7 p.m. Friday, May 5. Undergraduate ceremonies, 4 p.m. Friday, May 5 and 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 6.

Henry Doilous Book Henry Doilous Book, a Master Mason in good standing of the free accepted Masonic Lodge # 71 Randolph of Pocahontas, Ark., was born on January 23, 1929. He was the seventh of 10 children born to Riley Lewis Book and Lottie Brydell (Parton) Book on April 23, 2023, at the age of 94 years and three months he entered into his eternal rest.
Black River Technical College (BRTC) is set to open a new Career and Technical Center location in Piggott. The Armory at BRTC is set to hold its first classes in August at the beginning of the Fall 2023 semester.
The Piggott School Board met in regular session on Tuesday, April 18 in the administration office with members Brad Dunlap, Chris Roberts, Jim Threatt and Jacob Richardson present. In the Mohawk Moments, the FBLA and FCCLA members were unable to attend, however both have qualified for Nationals this summer in Atlanta and Denver.
Ready-to-eat slices of multi-variety pizzas and meaty, juicy chicken wings topped the menu at the Cory Jackson Meet and Greet held in the Ford Room/Farm Room on Thursday evening, April 20, at the Rector Community Museum at 310 Main Street. Mavis Smith’s Pinterest-like presentations of clever banana-dolphins with grapes served in individual cups along with individual, generous servings of banana pudding had the guests enjoying the fare and the fellowship before the 7 p.m. Cory Jackson concert.
