Due to the retirement of Karen Troutt, the long-time tour guide for the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Education Center, the search was on for a replacement. After considering several applicants, Autumn Turner was hired and started her duties on Monday, April 3.
The Clay County Cattlemen’s Association regular meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, April 20, at The Piggott Diner in Piggott. Guest speakers will be Cliff Gifford and Michael Lindsey with Farm Bureau Insurance.
The 4-H Tech Changemakers are excited to announce a workshop on Microsoft Word Document and other digital questions and answers. The workshop is free and open to everyone. The next workshop will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, at the Piggott Public Library located at 361 West Main Street.
The Piggott 4-H Livestock team is currently hosting a You’ve Been “Budded” fundraiser through May 30. You can help support the club by “budding” a friend, family, business, or neighbor for $25. A display of clovers will be placed in the recipient’s yard. The lucky recipient can choose the next house by donating to continue the cause. You may also purchase clover protection for $10. An Architecture Watercolor Class entitled “No straight lines required” will be held at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22 with instructor Milo Stephens. Participants are encouraged to bring a photo of any building they would like to use in creating a fun watercolor. The event is $35 per person with attendees bringing their own supplies. Stella Mae Romines Stella Mae Romines, 82, of Piggott, Ark., passed away surrounded by friends and family on April 11, 2023, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Onis Lee Bearden Onis Lee Bearden, 78, of Eudora, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Homestead of Eudora. Onis was born on March 22, 1945, in Boydsville, Ark.
