Free health and resource event planned
A combined effort of Piggott Health Systems, First General Baptist Church and Piggott State Bank will host a free health and resource event on Thursday, April 27. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Family Life Center of First General Baptist Church located at 679 South Taylor in Piggott.

Clay County 4H Youth hold workshop
The Clay County 4H Youth Leadership Team held a workshop Wednesday, April 5 at Piggott High School. The workshop focused on building resumes and interviewing skills.
Rector Downtown Central to host Spring Marketplace
Rector Downtown Central will host a Spring Marketplace from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Rector Downtown Park.Approximately 20 local ven- will offer their wares for a spring shopping day. A special treat will be the opportunity to meet Buck, the sweet little kangaroo of A&J Farms.

BRTC hosts first Arkansas SkillsUSA competition
Black River Technical College (BRTC) hosted its first Arkansas SkillsUSA Additive Manufacturing Competition Thursday, March 30. Student teams, made up of two students in each team, designed an additive manufacturing part from a blueprint provided by the BRTC Machine Tool Technology Instructor Rick Barker.

Blackwell, Poole honored
Paula Blackwell and Jim Poole are well known in the banking industry in our area and even though they have retired from the daily work at the bank they both remain on the board of Piggott State Bank. They both were honored with the Milestone in Banking award at theArkansas Bankers Association in Little Rock on April 5, for their many years of service.


IT HAPPENED HERE YEARS AGO….
1983 Jim Poole and Police Chief Kenneth Parker were shown standing by one of the “slow children” signs purchased by Piggott State Bank and donated to the city. The bank bought eight of the signs which have been erected in areas of high usage by children.

Art on the Ridge Held Saturday on Piggott Square
The weather was perfect for the second Saturday of the month Art on the Ridge held in Piggott on Saturday, April 8. A drop in reception honoring the artwork of Carolyn Caldwell was a tremendous success as people came by to view her exhibitions. Caldwell’s exhibit will be on display at Blue Awning Gallery throughout the month of April. The duo Jordan and Jett entertained with some great music and a Faberge egg competition was also held with a vast assortment of designs.
Graddy to celebrate 90th birthday
J.E. Graddy of Piggott will be honored with a birthday bash in celebration of his 90th birthday from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Piggott Community Center located at 161 E. Pfeiffer. Friends and family members are invited to attend. The family requests no gifts please.
