Helping new high school grads understand what lies ahead

(MS) - With graduation on the horizon, many high school seniors are anxiously anticipating their exodus from Mom and Dad’s house to the less restrictive dorms of their colleges of choice. Visions of parties, late school nights spent hanging out with friends, and no Mom and Dad to check in on them populate the dreams of many a high school senior as graduation draws closer and closer.

Mikaylah Putt

is the daughter of Jessica and Tom Hendley and Bryan and Jennifer Putt. Her future plans include going to college and pursuing a career in dentistry and eventually owning her own dental practice. She was in Beta and FFA during her high school years. She played volleyball her freshman through senior years. Her favorite memory is when the volleyball team went to state. She would like to be remembered through sports.

Trinity Allen,

the daughter of Candis Allen, plans to marry her high school sweetheart, be a midwife and travel around the world. Having a big family is also in her plans. Trinity played basketball for seven years, tennis and track for three and was in cheer for one year. She was also a member of FCCLA for three years. Her favorite school memory was when Justin Gilbee flooded Mr. Johnson’s classroom. She would like to be remembered for being a nice easy-going person that loved to play sports and help others.

Eric Davis,

the son of Mark and Lori Davis, is considering going to college after graduation, getting a job and living on his own. Eric was in band his freshman year and in FFA his junior year. He doesn’t have a particular favorite memory of school.

Kelsey Lynn Wilson,

the daughter of Kevin and Bridgett Wilson, is graduating early and plans to continue her education. She plans to become a registered nurse and while going to school to earn her real estate license. Kelsey played softball (ninth – 12th), and was in FBLA and FFA (ninth – 12th). Her favorite memory was when FBLA went to Six Flags and Mr. Seegraves hit a truck at Caseys with the bus. Emma Langley,

daughter of Kyra and Jared Langley plans to attend Arkansas Northeastern College for two years, and then transfer to ASU for further education. Emma was a member of FBLA and PACE during the four years of high school and was in FCCLA her freshman year. She ran track in her freshman and sophomore years. Her ninth through twelfth grade years were filled with basketball, volleyball and softball. Emma’s favorite memory was when the Lady Mohawks made it to the semi-finals in state volleyball her sophomore year in which she considered the whole experience a blast. Emma would like to be remembered as someone who put their all into everything they did and loved Jesus with all her heart.
