Piggott Girl Scout Troop 3011 is currently selling chances for a knife raffle. Tickets are $10 each or three for $20 with each ticket purchase entitling you to three chances of winning. First prize is a custom Seth Miller knife, handmade in Boydsville, Ark., and valued at $250. Second prize is an Aitor El Montero, made in Spain and is used by Spanish Special Forces valued at $140. Third prize is a Condor Australian Army Machete. It is made in small batches in El Salvador with a value of $100. All proceeds will benefit the troop. Drawing will be held on June 16. The annual Williams Cemetery Association business meeting and homecoming will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27. The gathering will be held at the cemetery, located on CR 450 between Piggott and Crockett, and all are welcome to attend.

A full schedule of pageants from birth to 21 years and up will once again accompany the Piggott 4th of July picnic. The entry fee will be $30 and registration starts 30 minutes prior to pageant start time and sign up will be behind the stage. Ages birth to four years old will be casual dress with ages five and up being pageant dress.

The annual Mary’s Chapel Cemetery meeting will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, in the conference room of the Rector Community Center. Anyone with ties to the cemetery is urged to attend and help support the cemetery. Anyone interested in making a donation toward the upkeep of the cemetery may do so at any Regions Bank location to the Mary’s Chapel Cemetery Fund. You may also contact Perry Mills at 870783-0109.

The PHS class of 1983 will be holding their 40-year class reunion on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Sugar Creek Country Club at 6:30 pm. The cost for attendance is $30.00 per person / $50.00 per couple. The class photo will be taken at 6:45 p.m. sharp! Dinner and live music by Randy Harrington and the Southern Tradition Band will follow. Hotel accommodations at a reduced rate are offered for your personal booking through June 1 at both the Hampton Inn and the Holiday Inn Express in Paragould.
