McNiel’s vintage store front raised

For over 100 years the front brick wall with its current ghost signature signage proclaiming McNiel’s General Merchandise or McNiel’s Appliances stood and provided conversation starters or memory joggers. The Rector Community Museum showroom features a pink Maytag wringer washer purchased from McNiel’s as early as 1946, the only year the washer came in pink.

IT HAPPENED HERE YEARS AGO….

1983 Three members of the Piggott FFA Chapter represented the Chapter as voting delegates to the 56th Arkansas State FFA Convention at Camp Couchdale,Arkansas. The Piggott Chapter members attending the convention were Phillip Wagster, Troy Hogue and Lee Holifield.

Rector Business Expo set for June 22

The City of Rector along with Rector Chamber of Commerce announce their joint sponsorship of a Business Expo which is designed to promote the Rector First initiative, the concept that encourages residents to shop local first. The Expo will take place on June 22 at the Rector Community Center. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the event will conclude at 6 p.m.
