UAW retirees to meet
United Auto Workers retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at Grecian Steak House, 210 Airport Road, in Paragould.
Golf tournament set
The sixth annual Mohawk Football Golf Tournament is set for Thursday, July 27, at the Sugar Creek Country Club and is being hosted by the Piggott Mohawk Football Boosters. Tee off is set for 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The event is a 18 hole four-person scramble and is limited to 18 teams. Lunch will be provided.
Canning workshop set
Powhatan Historic State Park will host a summer workshop on canning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15. Park staff will teach participants how to preserve food through canning. Staff will discuss the history of canning and give tips for making canning each. Participants will leave with a sample canned good made at the workshop. HPMEC and Blue Awning Gallery present Ernest Hemingway exhibit
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and The Blue Awning Gallery present Series 2 of The Veneto of Ernest Hemingway; Across the River into the Trees. The exhibit is comprised of beautiful black and white panels. This exhibit may be viewed at The Blue Awning Gallery located at 164 South Second Avenue in Piggott. The exhibit will run until July 31, 2023.

OHP Vendor’s Market plans open house
“It’s good for our town,” commented Leigh Ann Jones, owner of Our Happy Place Vendor’s Market and OHP Nutrition. Coming up on three years at the same location, the intersection of Highway 90 (Main Street – Rector) and Highway 49, OHP sits at a perfect spot for shoppers from Rector and the surrounding area. Jones’ original concept has been rebranded as a vendor’s market.

New pastor appointed at Rector FUMC
Pastor Jonathan Bevil has found his new favorite space in Rector for writing sermons. The Caffeinated Cow offers just the inspiration for Bevil who meets and interacts with new people with absolute ease.
July happenings at the Piggott Public Library
July 12 – Farm Day beginning at 11 a.m. There will be tractors, equipment, and other fun activities for the kids to enjoy.
