Williams Baptist University’s Theatre program is set to kick off the 2023-24 season with a performance of “The Romancers” by Edmond Rostand. The play is scheduled for Oct. 26-27 at the Randolph County Development Center on the campus of Black River Technical College.
The Next Generation Concert returns to the Ozark Folk Center during the Bean Festival and Championship Outhouse Races in Mountain View on Saturday, October 28. The concert is a fundraiser sponsored by the Committee of One Hundred to raise funds for the Music Roots Program for youth in Mountain View. Music Roots provides free music lessons and loaned instruments for homeschool and publicschool students beginning in fourth grade.

Red Ribbon Week is being observed through Friday across the country, including Rector and Piggott schools. Monday afternoon Piggott Elementary hosted their 35th annual Red Ribbon Week rally with Superintendent Freddie Bowen serving as the speaker.
1983 Tony Pace of Piggott, whose stage name is Anthony Baker, the Illusionist, is a member of the cast of a weekly TV series which is presently in the markets. The plot revolves around the lives of four magicians who have to match wits with criminals and who foil them through illusions.
