BRTC @ The Armory holds open house, ribbon cutting Oct. 10

BRTC @ The Armory held a ribbon cutting and open house at the new state of the art facility on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to a welcoming crowd. BRTC president, Dr. Martin Eggensperger welcomed the crowd stating, “I want to thank you for coming out today to look at what we got. We are very proud of this facility and even more proud of the partnerships and the industries that worked together to make this happen. Black River Technical College really wants to be the tip of the sphere for new training and for that reason we brought in leading industry experts to help design and implement this program and get it up and running. They will stay a little bit longer as we integrate the robots to this material handling, the conveyor systems, the sensors; all of these things. This is the future of workforce. Robots will either get you a job or take a job from you. We want to make sure the people of Clay County and Northeast Arkansas don’t have jobs taken from them; they have jobs given to them. For that reason we are setting this up to train our students. If you will notice, this is a state of the art material handling lab and state of the art welding lab. Future careers for a zillion students we hope to come through here. I would like to thank our board of trustees, our foundation board who did a lot of work on the finance side of this. There are more industry partners than I can name in the brief time I have. Two primary shout outs, Hytrol and Fidus Global.” Eggensperger then introduced keynote speaker Aaron Hale who is the president of Fidus Global.
