Hemingway-Pfeiffer to lead Cuba trip
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) will lead a trip to Cuba this spring. The trip will begin on Saturday, May 25, and continue through Saturday, June 1.

Ryan Rogers Memorial Chili Cook-off set
The Ryan Rogers Memorial Chili Cook-off and Supper will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Rector Community Center with judging starting at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person for all-you-care-toeat chili, jambalaya, soup with the fixins’ plus drinks and dessert is always a hit with the public.
Seegraves named to CRC President’s List
Shawn-Hudson Seegraves of Piggott has been named to the Crowley’s Ridge College fall 2023 President’s List. Seegraves is a freshman and a member of the men’s varsity basketball team.
Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas receives grant from Farm Credit Mid-American
The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas was awarded a $25,000 grant by Farm Credit Mid-America to provide fresh produce in the 12 counties served by the Food Bank. The USDA recently named Arkansas as the nation’s most food insecure state with 16.6% of Arkansans reporting low or very low food security.

Early voting to begin Feb.20
Early voting for the 2024 Preferential Primary will begin Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Piggott and Corning Community Centers. Voting hours will be 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday Feb. 24 and Saturday March 2 voting hours will be 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Early voting ends at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 4.
Rector Chamber banquet aligns with the stars
Celebrating the Rector Chamber of Commerce Stars 2024 along with a salute to the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse, the Chamber Board led by Executive Director Crystal Williams and President Mark Manchester announces the annual banquet to be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Rector Community Center Crockett Multi-purpose Room.
