Breaking Cougar baseball news from Coach Robert Dorman catches the excitement of a hard-fought win over EPC Warriors on their turf Thursday afternoon. The 6 – 5 margin hung in the balance in the last half of the seventh and final inning.

Cougar baseball and softball teams successful

Rector baseball and softball teams have been successful lately in defeats of BIC Mustangs and Bay Yellowjackets in quick succession on the home diamonds. Both teams had hot bats and showed strong base running and quick steals to get into scoring positions. Hits that dropped just right into the gap, just left of the right field line allowed base hits for the batter and quick scores for the base runners.

Youth athletic programs build skills through fun and teamwork

Love kids, love the game. Pee-wee and youth sports programs don’t thrive without parents who are willing to coach, serve as official score-book keeper, without sponsors who put their names on the t-shirts and help supply the items necessary for the particular sport of the season, the programs will dry up. Fortunately for Rector, the youth have multiple age options for sports and can play not only on local youth leagues but also on traveling teams that practice and play more games.

Rep. Crawford searching for student artist
