The U.S. Department of Education (Department) today announced additional steps to support students and their families with the Better FAFSA. The Department is launching a multi-milliondollar program as part of the FAFSA Student Support Strategy to help school districts, state, nonprofits and other public and private organizations with efforts to boost FAFSA completion. Since the new 2024–25 FAFSA form became available on Dec. 30, more than 8.95 million forms have been successfully submitted.

The Piggott FFA held their awards night on Tuesday, May 9 in the high school cafeteria to a large group of family, students, friends, faculty and past and present school board members. The night started with opening ceremonies presented by the chapter officers, after which FFA president Riley Jo Gossett gave a welcoming speech followed by an entertaining slide show of the students and their sponsor/ag teacher Casey Simpson of various activities, competitions and fun they did through the year.

Vicki Lynn Holifield Vicki Lynn Holifield, 74, of Pollard, Ark., passed away April 30, 2024, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born on April 10, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Peggy (Vogel) Tarman.
