Entrants from several states participate every year for this highly anticipated event for street rods, classic and custom cars and trucks, as well as motorcycles of all genres For 2024 the event will be held Friday night through Sunday morning with the majority of events taking place Saturday at Heritage Park.
All residents of the City of Rector are encouraged to stop feeding stray animals. Many residents have contacted Council members and the Mayor’s office regarding an abundance of stray or “feral cats” roaming the streets, digging up flower beds, hiding under vehicles, walking across vehicles, being general nuisances around town. “Stray or wandering dogs are picked up, owners are cited and fined, but stray cats are not and it’s frustrating for residents, especially those who do not have dogs or cats,” agreed council members.
The Piggott High School gymnasium will be packed Sunday afternoon as a group of 52 seniors bid farewell to PHS. Commencement will start at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19 as the graduates look forward to starting a new chapter in their lives.
