1984 The 67 members of the Piggott High School class of 1984 will receive diplomas in commencement exercises beginning at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 13, in the high school gym. Honor grads are Mark Self, Angela Howell, Jeron Smart, Carol Hughes, Christy Kinder, Randy Hinkle, Lorre Gossett, Karen Cook, Amy Wheeler, Lynn Miller and Jon Settlemoir.

Property liens resolution passed at Piggott City Council meeting

Piggott City Council met in regular session on Thursday, April 25 with all members present. The meeting started at 5:45 p.m. regarding the liens on properties the city had to mow last year. The meeting was held before the 6 p.m. regular meeting in order for any person who had gotten a notice to appear before council. No property owners attended, although one person did place a phone call before the meeting. City attorney, Kimberly Dale, read off the names, addresses and amounts of the liens to the council.

Rosa Lee Husher Rosa “Lee” Husher, 92, of Rector, Ark., passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at BrightMoor Hospice in Griffin, Ga., with family by her side. Lee was born March 10, 1932, in Matthews, Mo.

CAR SHOW T-SHIRTS ON SALE

Organizers report that t-shirts remain on sale for the 25th annual Piggott Heritage Park Car Show and Cruise. Sizes available include youth through adult 4X at the price of $15. The shirts may be purchased at The Piggott Diner or Front Street Flea Market.
