Decoration Day set at Shannon Cemetery

The annual Shannon Cemetery Decoration Day I set for Saturday, May 25. A potluck lunch and fellowship will be held for all family and friends. KIDS MINISTRY PLANTS FLOWERS

Rector First Baptist Church Kids Ministry, led by Lisa Diddle, along with Crystal Williams, Executive Director of Rector Area Chamber of Commerce, planted flowers Saturday, May 11 to beautify the sidewalks on Main Street. RHS students enjoy field trip

Rector High School students in Sydney Wofford’s eighth grade Arkansas History class enjoyed a field trip on Friday, May 10 with a visit to the Rector Community Museum, RectorArea Chamber of Commerce Office, and the Veterans Memorial Park. The field trip started with a light and laser show at Rector Community Museum Farm Room produced by museum director, Joey Pruett.

CCSD makes multiple arrests

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Saturday, May 4, 2024, they observed a vehicle being driven on County Road 478 by a subject that had a suspended driver’s license. The deputy stopped the vehicle and had the subject get out of the vehicle. The deputy placed the subject in custody, and during the search of his person a baggy with a white crystal substance was found. The subject, 43-year-old Michael S. Lucas, was transported to the Clay County Detention Center and booked in on possession of Sch I or II LT 2GM, driving on suspended license, and no liability insurance.
