Life in a rural community brings joy and fulfillment to Amanda Wiedeman. She leads a busy family life, along with her job as an administrative assistant at 1st Choice Healthcare, and her service work in the community. She enjoys raising her chickens that provide eggs for the family. She and her family built their chicken house that provides ample space for roosting and laying eggs as well as a storage space. She also has a small garden where she grows vegetables and strawberries.

Clay County has a long tradition of outstanding farm families. The Clay County Farm Family Committee selects a family each year that represents the county’s agricultural community with pride as guardians of the soil through progressive endeavors that honor the county’s love of farming and family.
