Causey reunion set June 29

The children of Homer and Dora Causey will be hosting a family reunion beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, June 29, at the Pollard Picnic ground. All family and friends are invited to attend. Organizers note a potluck meal will be served.

Early beans gets the bushels

Back in 2022, people wondered why Zack Brown of Success was planting soybeans in March when his neighbors in northeast Arkansas planted in mid-April. “It’s one of those things I’ve heard from since I’ve been out of school is the earlier you can plant beans the better,” said Brown, who graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2012 with a degree in agriculture business, marketing and management, with the idea he wouldn’t become a farmer.

BRTC presents partnership check

As part of its Strengthening Institutions Grant activities, Black River Technical College (BRTC) recently presented NEA Regional Intermodal Authority a check for $12,000. The funds are to defray expenses that NEA Regional Intermodal Authority will incur during its work in helping guide BRTC in conducting a needs assessment, identifying the Durable Skills workforce employers statewide seek, and assisting in curriculum development and employability assessments.
