The annual Pollard Picnic, to benefit the New Hope Cemetery, will be held Saturday, July 13, in Pollard. As usual, this year’s picnic will include a full schedule of beauty pageants for contestants of all ages.
The Selection Committee of the Rector High School Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the 2024 inductees into the Rector High School Sports Hall of Fame. The organization has four categories from which inductees may be selected: athletes, coaches, teams, and other.
Parks Cemetery, located 2 miles west of Rector, is in need of donations for the upkeep of the cemetery. “If you have loved ones bur-ied at the cemetery we would appreciate your donation,” commented a spokesperson. The traditional slate of beauty pageants are scheduled in conjunction with this year’s St. Francis Picnic, set for Saturday, July 20, at the picnic grounds in that community.
Once again, a full schedule of pageants from birth to 21 and up will accompany the Piggott 4th of July picnic. The first four pageants will be held the evening of July 3, with the remainder being held on July 4. All pageants will be held on the stage at the picnic grounds.
