Mohawk Football Golf Tournament set July 25

The seventh annual Mohawk Football Golf Tournament is set for Thursday, July 25, at the Sugar Creek Country Club and is being hosted by the Piggott Mohawk Football Boosters. Tee off is set for 9 a.m. with registration be-ginning at 8:30 a.m. The event is a 18 hole four-person scramble and is limited to 18 teams. Lunch will be provided. Best meat quality, most economical cattle ‘finishing’ diet has more byproduct

University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station A high-energy diet that includes higher amounts of dry soybean hulls was the most economical choice for Arkansas beef producers who want to “finish,” or bring their weaned cattle up to market weight, on the farm. An Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station study conducted at the Southwest Research and Extension Center in Hope showed that a high-byproducts diet, which uses a material that may otherwise be wasted, also provided the best meat quality among three diets tested.
