Rector First United Methodist Church to host benefit event Labor Day

Desserts and drinks (water, tea, and lemonade) will be available for purchase for $5 per person at the Rector Community Center multi-purpose room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. The event is being hosted by Rector First United Methodist Church with all proceeds benefitting the Woodland Heights Cemetery. Tables and chairs will be set up to provide a cool, comfortable opportunity to visit with friends and family. Free drink refills will be available.

Entergy Arkansas donates $1,000 to City of Rector, benefits Jeremy McDanial Memorial Sports Complex

Entergy Arkansas recently donated $1,000 in philanthropic giving to the City of Rector to support renovations to the city’s athletic facilities. The grant will be used to upgrade the concession stand area of the city’s ballpark, which is used for baseball, softball, rodeo events and more.

QC holds August meeting

The August meeting of the Clay County Quorum Court consisted of a short agenda as justices met in Corning at the Western District Courthouse on Monday, August 19, 2024. Justices Brad Green and David Cagle were not in attendance. After the meeting began with its usual procedures, it advanced with the business slated for the monthly meeting.

Rector Labor Day Picnic offers full weekend of fun

Let the fun begin – Again! As Labor Day 2024 Grand Marshal Sherry Dills commented, “Rector’s Labor Day Picnic is the highlight of the year – always has been.” Rector’s annual Labor Day Picnic, homecoming events, and class reunions get underway Friday night with some reunion classes beginning to gather to share memories and food. Reunions throughout the weekend are traditionally held at local and neighboring restaurants or church facilities.
