Hat’s off to the junior Rector Cougars who lined up against the Corning Bobcats in a non-conference Friday night game. The decision to keep the Cougar varsity at home was because of injury and resulting low number of players available to suit up for a non-conference opening contest.
Austin Magee has been given the job of general manager effective the first of September. Magee will celebrate six years of employment with Sonic in December.

Black River Area Development Corporation has announced the Summer Entergy Assistance Program will close Monday, Sept. 30, 2024. Program coordinators report applications for Summer Energy Assistance will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. In turn, the applications will be processed until it appears the funds have been fully depleted.
