Powhatan Historic State Park to host Bookbinding Workshop

Powhatan Historic State Park will host a Bookbinding Workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. Park staff will teach participants how books are made by hand. Participants will explore the rich history of books and how they influenced Arkansas History while learning the skills to make their own. Participants will leave with their own handmade journal. Space is limited and registration is required. Registration fee is $25. Piggott city wide yard sale set Saturday

The Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a fall city wide yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 5. As with the spring event, the yard sale fee will be waived by the City of Piggott for that day and a list of participating locations will be available from the Chamber of Commerce. John J. Pershing VA Medical Center helps Veterans experiencing homelessness

Tuesday, Sept. 24, the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center announced it has housed 120 Veterans experiencing homeless in Missouri and Arkansas this fiscal year. A total of 91.7% of these Veterans have not returned to homelessness, and 65 unsheltered Veterans in this network have been engaged to ensure they have access to the housing and other wraparound services they need.
