Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center will host the reading of “The Night before Christmas” in the historic Pfeiffer-Janes home as part of the 12 Days of Christmas. The event is free and will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 and will also feature wa-tercolor crafts and refreshments in the education center following the reading. Seating is limited for children age four to 10 and preregistration is required. You may contact the museum at 870-598-3487 to reserve a spot. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Local shoppers are encouraged to take part in The Christmas Shoppe which is planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Piggott Community Center. The center is located at 161 E. Pfeiffer Street.

The Piggott Schools Band Programs will host Supper With Santa as partof the 12 Days of Christmas from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Piggott Elementary School gym. The event will feature the Piggott Jazz Band and is sponsored by the Piggott High School Band Boosters. The evening menu will include a variety of soups, sandwiches, chili, chicken and dumplings, desserts and drinks with to-go plates available. Admission is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages six and up and children under five will be admitted free with a paying adult. Activities will include pictures with Santa, make-n-take ornament and hot chocolate and cookies. Supper With Santa is planned as a communitywide event, and everyone is invited to attend. Proceeds benefit the Piggott Schools Band Programs.

The Piggott Public Library is currently offering gift wrapping services for the holiday season. The “elves” at the library will be wrapping gifts through noon Friday, Dec. 20. Event organizers noted most gifts will be wrapped, and ready for pickup, within 24 hours. And, there is no charge— as the elves are working for donations. Those wanting additional information, and drop-off times, may call the library at 870-598-3666.

United Auto Workers retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Grecian Steak House, 210 Airport Road, in Paragould. All are urged to attend.
