Piggott School District archery team coach, Jenna Stender, recently received word that the school district will receive two grants totaling $3,632 from the Arkansas Game and Fish Wildlife Education Grant Program. Monies from the grants will help purchase new bows and arrows, along with other equipment, and pay tournament fees.

Cold weather and a forecast for a potential snowstorm brought a healthy crowd to the Rector gym on Tuesday, Dec 7, as the Cougars hosted Buffalo Island Central Mustangs. The crowd warmed up with cheers for the Cougars.
As one of NEAâs loudest and proudest cheerleaders, I often write about special places here at home that make our communities extra special. I will talk about our downtowns, our historical significance and our people. However, Iâm embarrassed to say Iâve never once written about a place here at home that draws thousands of visitors a year: Black River Technical College (BRTC).
