Clay County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Saturday, Feb. 8 at approximately 7:04 p.m. they received a 911 call of an altercation at 414 CR 453, southwest of Pollard. Upon arrival, the department came in contact with a female who resided at the address. Deputies were advised that the male subject had broken the jaw of a dog belonging to the female and then left. At approximately 10:11 p.m. the sheriff’s department received another 911 call from the same residence advising that the subject was outside her house. Deputies arrived back at the residence at approximately 10:12 p.m. but the male subject could not be located. At approximately 2:26 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, the department received another 911 call advising that the subject had returned to the residence and had slashed all the tires on her vehicle. The deputies arrived back at the residence but could not locate the subject. After parking their vehicle down the road from the residence, the deputies walked back to the residence and stayed until daylight at which time deputies from the night and day shift entered into the woods beside the residence and located the subject, 46-year-old Ronnie Allen Duren. Duren was taken into custody and transported to the Clay County Detention Center where he was booked for terroristic threatening-first degree, threatening physical injury, criminal mischief-first degree of property of another with value over $1000 but $5000 or less, stalking, cruelty to animals and harassment/conduct that repeatedly causes alarm or serious annoys another.
