Adrianna Jackson, an eighth grade student at Rector High School and the daughter of Crystal and Justin Jackson, served as legislative page for Representative Jeremy Wooldridge on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the State Capitol in Little Rock. She told that when her brother took a fifth grade field trip to the Capitol, she was able to go and saw the pages. She told her dad that she’d like to do that someday and he spoke with RES Principal Mark Manchester on her behalf. It was not difficult to submit her request to Rep. Wooldridge because of her work ethic and all-around good attitude and citizenship.
Jackson Hill, of Rector, is among 17 Northwest Mississippi Community College students inducted into the 2024-25 Hall of Fame, the highest honor a student can achieve at the college.

Now, after 56 years of service—including 18 as General Manager—Smith is retiring, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, devotion and progress.
Due to inclement weather, the regular meeting of the Clay County Quorum Court for the month of February was held on Monday, March 3 at the courthouse in Corning with Justices Dennis Haines, Patrick Patterson, David Hatcher, George Lowe, Randy Kingston, Jody Henderson and Brad Green present. Justices Neal Smith and David Cagle were absent.
