Cougar teams secure berth in Regional Tournament

As Rector fans packed the home stands and welcomed guests for the 2A-3 District Tournament, Cobi Hendrix stated, “Action at the concession stand reminded me of the State Tournament.” The student section and the Rector home crowd cheered, lofted signs, and were lively and loud to match the crowds from Cross County and Marmaduke. Rector’s teams had not played a game in eight days, noted Judy Leach, Lady Cougar fan. “The snow days really took their toll on us,” she said.

Cougars take down Rebels, Lady Cougars fall

The Rector Cougars wore their visitor blue and the fans filled the home stands clad in “Black Out” gear. The team ran onto the court for the 7:30 tip-off against the #1 seed Riverside Rebels on Saturday, District Tournament games delayed due to inclement weather. Introduced as visitors on the scoreboard, the Cougars received a rousing cheer from the hometown crowd. The Riverside Rebels wore white.
