The City of Piggott will be hosting a cornhole tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26. at the Piggott Community Center. Those interested may call 870-598-2003 or email acrittenden@cityofpiggott.org. Sign-up fee is $45 per team with a 60/40 payout. A food truck will also be available during the event.
Clay County and the surrounding areas were hit with torrential rain and flash flooding with many people having to evacuate their homes. Flash flooding has closed roads in the county with many of the residents working out of town having to take lengthy detours to get to their workplace.

Two Piggott residents were arrested on drug charges following a call to the Clay County Sheriff’s office requesting removal of a subject from a residence, according to the sheriff’s department.
