Every day, volunteers at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center work to provide top-notch service to Veterans and fill valuable roles in the medical system’s operations.
On Saturday, April 27, the Rector Cougar 4-H Club embarked on a funfilled fishing trip to Lake Frierson State Park. Members spent the day casting their lines in hopes of catching fish, enjoying the playground, and sharing a picnic lunch with friends.
The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) has named author Snowden Wright of Yazoo City, Mississippi, as the writerin-residence for the summer.
The Piggott High School class of 1968 will hold a reunion from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, at the Piggott Diner. The event is casual at-tire and buffet will be available for purchase for those attending. “We look forward to seeing you there,” commented a class member.
Rector Elementary will host kindergarten registration from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, May 16 at the RES main building. Parents will need to provide a copy of their child’s social security card, birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence.
The annual Williams Cemetery Association business meeting and homecoming will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24. The gath-ering will be held at the cemetery, located on CR 450 between Piggott and Crockett, and all are welcome to attend.
