Opening day of the Piggott Farmer’s Market is set for Friday, May 9 at the First National Bank Pavilion. Shoppers will find produce, baked goods, goat milk soap, crafts and much more. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Early voting for the 2025 Rector School Board Election began Tuesday, May 6 with Election Day being Tuesday, May 13.
The Piggott City Council met at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, April 28 for public hearing regarding the condemnation of property. Council members Jeff Benbrook, Kevin Jones and Jamey Parks were present. Council member Tracy Cole was absent. Also present was Curtis Fuller, the owner of the property located at 780 West Clay. Fuller addressed the council and asked for time to get started on fixing the property. The council voted to allow Fuller three months to start repairs and then the council will reevaluate the progress.
