Local schools to participate in USDA Summer Feeding program
Once again this year, both the Piggott and Rector School Districts are taking part in the USDA Summer Feeding program. Under the federally- funded effort, all those under the age of 18 are provided free meals at local schools. The meals are the same for all children regardless of family income, race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. No registration is required for those attending.

Local graduates awarded MFA Foundation scholarship
Emma Holmes, a 2025 graduate of Rector High School and Marley Moran Speer, a 2025 graduate of Greene County Tech High School, are recipients of a $2,500 MFA Foundation scholarship. The scholarship was sponsored by MFA Incorporate – Midsouth Group.
