Rector Board hears district’s financial report
Rector School Board met Monday, July 14, at the Administration Building and heard from Superintendent Johnny Fowler regarding the district’s financial report. Concluding the Arkansas School Board fiscal year at the conclusion of June, 2025, the board saw the end balances related to salaries, operating fund, and all areas related at zero balance. The report for July 14 for period 1 shows an operating fund of $424,130.07. The building fund balance is $4,779,764.35. When combined with cafeteria funds and federal funds, the total assets are $5,482,831.08.
Mohawk Football Golf Tournament set July 24
The eighth annual Mohawk Football Golf Tournament is set for Thursday, July 24, at the Sugar Creek Country Club and is being hosted by the Piggott Mohawk Football Boosters. Tee off is set for 9 a. m. with registration beginning at 8: 30 a. m. The event is a 18 hole four- person scramble and is limited to 18 teams. Lunch will be provided.

As the fall semester approaches at Arkansas State University, a variety of events are set to take place on campus and throughout the Jonesboro community.
Piggott Parks and Recreation to host co-ed adult softball fall league
Piggott Parks and Recreation will be hosting a co-ed softball adult fall league on Monday nights beginning Aug. 11. Ages for the league is 16 and up and format will be 6/4 (must play with four girls minimum). Cost is $200 per team and last day to register is Friday, Aug. 1. Student registration set at local schools
Piggott High School will host new student registration for the upcoming school year from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4 Parent/guardian must bring their student’s birth certificate, social security number, and two proof of residency (utility bill, etc. postmarked within the last 60 days).
