Rector Cougars bring experience and youth

Rector Cougars will suit up sixteen stalwart young men in Cougar blue to build on successes of the past years and gain momentum going into conference schedule. According to new head coach Robert Dorman who has been integral with the program for many years, “We have good size on the line with several returning starters and many sophomores moving up from the championship Junior High squad.” He continued, “We are a bigger group in physical size and we are pretty fast, certainly strong.

City of Piggott receives grant for water system improvements

The City of Piggott recently was the recipient of a $499,950 Community Development Block Grant for water system improvements. Piggott Mayor Bradley Scheffler was among the recipients from the Arkansas communities who attended the awards ceremony Thursday, Aug. 21 at the Governor’s Conference Room in Little Rock. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission presented the grants during the ceremony.
