Mary Jean Blankenship
Mary Jean Blankenship departed this earth on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Piggott Community Hospital. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas on November 28, 1955, to the late Loicy “Jr” and Mary (Cook) Blankenship.
Jean had a deep love for Jesus. She found joy in prayer, strength in scripture and peace in the promises of eternal life. She had an unyielding trust in God’s plan. Jean had an abundance of love for family, grandkids, and friends. She had a passion for growing flowers, gardening, and collecting things. She loved all animals and people, she never met a stranger. Jean always read her bible and prayed for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one nephew, Bryan Dollins; paternal and maternal grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Robin Woods-Woodard and Velvet Woods-Azbill; sister, Gail (Buck) Dollins; two brothers, Keith (Rhonda) Blankenship, and David (Pam) Blankenship; three grandchildren, Olivia, Landon, and Larrin; and many nieces and nephews.
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Jean now rests in the arms of the Savior, lives in her heavenly home and is now free from pain and sorrow, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with David King officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
