Beverly Jane (Bratton) Wallis

Beverly Jane (Bratton) Wallis, aged 86, of Piggott, passed away on April 6. She died after a courageous and expectationbusting six-year battle with cancer.
Beverly was born on January 14 in Nashville, Arkansas, to Millard and Marie Bratton. She graduated from Nashville High School, Nashville Junior College and Confederate Memorial Medical Center, now known as LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport, Louisiana. She retired from Piggott Community Hospital in 2004.

ety. She was an enthusiastic teapot collector with an encyclopedic knowledge of wild birds who never missed an opportunity to extend care when a friend or neighbor needed it. She loved God, her country, her family and the Piggott Public Library.
Beverly Wallis is survived by daughters Susan (Gary) Minor of Franklin, Tennessee and Marty (Paul) Dubey of Castle Rock, Colorado; and son James “Jay” (Lyn) Wallis of Dexter, Missouri; sisters Magel Chandler, Brenda Allen, Carol Williams, Lynne Ray (Bill), and brother Michael Bratton (Jean). Beverly showered her five grandsons; Trevor, Derek, Matthew, Zachary, Ryan; great granddaughter Charlotte and two great-grandsons Oliver and George with love, hugs and boundless encouragement. She is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Marie Bratton, and her husband, James Wallis.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at Piggott First Baptist Church. Visitation will take place one hour before the service.
