Michael Kevin Jones, 66, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away August 6, 2025, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

He was born on July 2, 1959, in Kennett, Missouri, and was the son of Charlie Jones and Barbara (Turnbo) Jones Bridges.

A proud 1977 graduate of Piggott High School, he was the owner of Jones’ Furniture Store from 1979 until his retirement in 2021. He faithfully served the community as a member of the Piggott City Council for 7 years and Volunteer Firefighter for 23 years. He had a love of airplanes, serving on the local Airport Board and earning his pilot’s license in 2011. An avid golfer, he enjoyed serving as Greens Keeper at Sugar Creek Country Club during his retirement. He was a devoted and active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a dedicated Gideon, sharing his faith with others throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Jones. Kevin is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Julia Jones; daughter, Jade Rundel; son, Jake Jones and wife Amanda; grandchildren: Caden, Clay, Anniston, and Cole; mother, Barbara Bridges and husband Chuck; sisters, Diane Elder and husband Danny, and Kellie McPherson and husband Stacey; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were Barry DeHart, Brad Montgomery, Daniel Gossett, Brett McMillon, Cary Wilson, Tony Smithmier, Caden Rundle, and Clay Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Barry Johnson, David Clayton, and James Eason. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the Kevin Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund at Piggott State Bank or Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
