Nicky Moody

Nicky Moody, 81, of Greenway, Ark., passed away November 7, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

He was born on May 25, 1941, in Greenway, and was the son of the late Nick and Bonnie (Higdon) Moody.

Nicky attended Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett, Mo., for many years. While attending, he was active in the Dorcas group and enjoyed opening the door. Most recently he attended Greenway Church of Christ. He was a lifelong farmer. He also worked for many years at John Deere, where he was a mechanic, where his specialty was fixing cotton pickers. Many people fondly remember how he loved to play tricks at the John Deere store. He enjoyed mowing his yard and gardening. He loved his grandchildren dearly.

He was preceded in death by Sue Heritage; and brothers, Geraine Moody, David Moody, Leroy Moody, and Gerald Dee Moody.

Nicky is survived by his son, David Lenn Moody and Gina of Piggott; daughter, Sara McGuire and Lance of Piggott; the mother of his children, Dorothy Moody of Piggott; grandchildren: Derek McGuire, Taylor Dayne McGuire, Jeff Ward, and Holly Barker; greatgrandchildren: Indi Rose, Ezra Lock, Miles Koe Bennett, Melody, Jaron, Jonah, Levi, Stormi, Case, Zoey, Riley, Piper Jolene; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Bro. Jay Lyles officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Pallbearers were Richie Culver, Chip O’Conner, Dane Coomer, Dillion Conyers, Kyle Cox, and Terry Cox. Honorary pallbearers were Derek McGuire, Jeff Ward, and John Vernon Call. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
