Linda Catt Palmer

Linda Catt Palmer, 73, of Piggott, Ark., passed away February 14, 2023, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

She was born on November 18, 1949, in Sunflower County, Merigold, Miss., and was the daughter of the late William Oscar and Anne Christine (Prewitt) Griffin.

Linda graduated from Clarksdale High School in Clarksdale, Miss. She attended Westside Church of Christ in Piggott. She worked many years as a CPA for Ellis and Hirshburg and as Controller for Coahoma County. During her retirement she worked at the Piggott Community Center. She loved family above all else. She enjoyed many hours playing Triominoes with the ladies at the community center. She also loved to cook and was good at it, as well as, taking summertime rides with the top down on her car. She also loved rooting for MSU Bulldogs with her son every chance she got.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Palmer; daughter, Christina Leshee Burton; sister, Barbara (Petey) Rains.

Linda is survived by her son, Jimmy (Buddie) Catt; four grandsons: Aaron Catt, Brandon Burton, Nathan Catt, and Jax Mock; four granddaughters, Ashley Van Etten, Kathryn Sanders, Hannah Catt, and Mya Mock; two great-grandchildren, Pharis Catt and Olivia Burton; two sisters, Janice (Charles) Wood and Shirley (John) Mays; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Terry Sanders officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
