Mike Herren

Mike Herren, 66, of Piggott, Ark., passed away April 7, 2023, at his home in Piggott.

He was born on November 16, 1956, in Clay County, Ark., and was the son of Fred and Mary (Sheppard) Herren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Herren; mother, Mary Lou Herren; great-granddaughter, Bryleigh Frey; brother, Freddie Herren; sister, Sharon Kay Goodman.

Mike was an avid sports fan. He was a Razorback, St. Louis Cardinals, and Chiefs fan – or whoever was winning. He loved playing pool and softball. He also raced mustangs when he was younger. He enjoyed spending time with his brother-inlaw, neighbor and best friend, David Lee.

Mike is survived by the mother of his children, Gletta Herren; children: Shannon Herren and wife Chrissy of Piggott; Tabatha Wilson and husband Bobby of Paragould, Ark., Jason Massey of Paragould, Ark.; Tiffany Mayberry and husband Brad of Piggott; grandchildren: Lexi Harrell and husband Cade, Lindsey Herren, Sierra Frey and husband Tanner, Bailey Schurr and husband Jake, MacKenzie Massey, Kahlyn Massey, Reegan Mayberry and wife Jillian, Sebastian Mayberry, Zander Mayberry, Caiden Mayberry, Kyrie Hensley, and Cooper Hensley; great grandchildren: Vivian, Liam, Wakelynn; and two “on-the-way” Lance and Stockton; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott with Jerry Massey officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Ark. Pallbearers were Tanner Frey, Jake Schurr, Sebastian Mayberry, Reegan Mayberry, Cade Harrell, Caiden Mayberry, and Zander Mayberry. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Wilson, Brad Mayberry, Cooper Hensley, and Liam Frey. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
