Jerry Lewayne Boyd

Jerry Lawayne Boyd, 81, of Boydsville, Ark., passed away April 6, 2023, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

He was born on September 4, 1941, in Crockett, Ark., and was the son of Claude and Freada (Wall) Boyd.

Jerry was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Forrest on May 7, 1966, and to this union two children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandra Lee Boyd.

Jerry was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed many hours hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his son, Brian Duane Boyd and wife Heather of Boydsville; daughter, Debbie Baxter and husband Roger of Fagus, Mo.; grandchildren: Hannah Baxter of Fagus, Katelyn Hillis and husband Brandon of Fagus, Natalie Baxter of Fagus, Blake Boyd of Boydsville, Shelby Boyd of Paragould, Ark., Lance Hewett of Little Rock, Ark., and Brydon Hewett of Boydsville; brother, Wendell Boyd and wife Shelia of Heflin, La.; sisters, Betty Lamb and husband Joey of Rector, and Linda Qualls and husband Danny of Hot Springs, Ark.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott with Bro. Gary Hancock, Bro. Mark Book officiating. Burial was in Carola Cemetery in Qulin, Mo. Pallbearers were Lance Hewett, Blake Boyd, Roger Baxter, Brydon Hewett, Brian Boyd, and Brandon Hillis. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Nunnery, Eugene Yancy, Justin Waugh, Cory Boyd, and Cody Boyd. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
