Geraldean Steward, 83, of Piggott, Ark., passed away June 23, 2023, at her home in Piggott.

She was born on October 4, 1939, in Shirley, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Luther and Lottie (Carroll) Tankersley.

Geraldean was united in marriage to Winard Steward on June 19, 1958, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Leonard Steward and Rickie Steward; brother, Raymond Tankersley; five sisters, Louise Lack, Marcell Bledsou, Charlene Lightfoot, Maxine Edwards, and Jeanetta Horton.

Geraldean is survived by her daughter, Linda Ruth Hall and husband Danny of Piggott; four grandchildren, Tabitha Hall of Piggott, Katie Hall of Bardolf, Ill., Kaela Steward of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Leanna Steward of Harrisburg, Ark.; three great grandchildren: Zoey, Mason, and Kyngston Seay; brother, Harold Tankersley and wife Rita of Campbell, Mo.; sister, Thelma Singleton and husband Linnie of Campbell, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard with Bro. Matthew Collier officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were Gary Edwards, Allan Edwards, Mike Edwards, Danny Lightfoot, Kenneth Bledsou, Thomas Bledsou, Jamie Whorton, and Kevin Gill. Randy Steward served as honorary pallbearer. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in New Hope Baptist Church.
