Marian Janet Roeder

Marian Janet Roeder, 91, of Piggott, Ark., passed away March 20, 2024. She was born February 17, 1933, in Waverly, Iowa, to the late Dorothy (Russell) Heidbreder and Lloyd Herbert Heidbreder.

She is survived by her husband Don Roeder; two daughters, Julie Treston Mobley and Claire Dirks Rouse and husband Brad; three grandchildren, Jenna Claire Mills and husband Nathan, William Garrett Mobley and wife Lillie, and McKenzie Augusta Rouse and husband Aaron; four great-grandchildren, Ansley Claire Rouse, Maggie Treston Mills, Sophia Marion Cluck, and Sydney Addison Cluck; a special cousin, Betty Russell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard “Dick” Heidbreder; and an aunt, Emma Lou Russell Morgan, who was raised by the Heidbreders like a sister to Janet.

Janet had a BA from Harding University, and an MS in Speech Pathology from Southern Illinois University. She was a Speech Pathologist for several schools including, Kankakee, Ill., Campbell, Mo., and Piggott.

Janet’s family would like to thank all of her caregivers in her final days including Arvella Gordon, who sat with her for many days and the staff at Piggott Community Hospital, Piggott Home Health, and Legacy Hospice. They all treated her with loving care. There are too many to name but we will remember Jim, Jessie, Patricia, Natosha, Ryan,Ashley, Mary, and LaDonna.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Richard Akins officiating. Private burial followed in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Visitation was held Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Don Roeder, Will Mobley, Brad Rouse, Nathan Mills, Aaron Cluck, and Shayne Roofe.

In lieu of flowers, Janet would prefer donations to the Piggott Public Library.
