The Greenway City Council approved the 1970 budget for the town’s water system at their meeting in February of that year. Those on hand, as best we could tell from the information provided back then, were—city clerk Mrs. Paul Cook (left-with back to the camera), along with alderman Paul Cook (left), alderman Wallace Gookin, Mayor Laymon Millikin, collector Mrs. Girtman, alderman Mr. Girtman and Howard C. Kelso, county FMHA supervisor (right-not facing camera). Mr. Girtman’s name wasn’t included in the story, and as things were reported back then, the first name of the ladies was not used either.(file photo)
