Allen Daniel Harper

Allen Daniel Harper, 85, of Russellville, Ark., passed away, Thursday, May 12, 2022. The son of Allen B. Harper and Nora E. (McInturff) Harper, he was born July 17, 1936 in Rector, Ark. He attained the rank of Airman 2nd Class with The United States Air Force where he served from 1957 to 1961. He married Brenda Donnell Krech on January 6, 1960 at Piggott. He was a member and later served as Elder for over 25 years at the East 16th Street Church of Christ in Russellville. He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad and later Union Pacific Railroad as a train engineer for over 40 years.
Allen was a member of the Arkansas River Valley Gun Club where he enjoyed burning powder and was a certified conceal carry weapon instructor. He was the Polar Express Conductor at the Russellville Train Depot. He enjoyed woodworking, driving his tractor, vegetable and flower gardening, fishing, and hunting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Brenda Harper of Russellville; six children, son, Scott Harper and wife Charlotte, son, Ken Harper and wife Christi, both of Russellville, daughter, Lea Harper of Little Rock, son, Steven Harper and wife Anita of Rosenberg, Tex., daughter, Sara Singleton and husband Jeff of Joelton, Tenn., daughter, Laura Kallenbach and husband Kevin of Warrenton, Mo.; grandchildren, Jerree Humphrey and husband Jason of Somerset, KY., Lindsey Harper of Fayetteville, Ashlea Mitchell and husband Drew of Clarksville, Tenn., Kaylyn Ruebling and husband Steven of Warrenton, Mo., Nikki Kirby of Evansville, Ind., Erin Ekstam and husband Chase of Springfield, Mo., Kirstie Stauffer and husband Cory of Lebanon, Mo., Joshua Harper of St. Charles, Mo., Jessica Sickle and husband Zach of Rosenberg, Tex., Alison Harper of Austin, Tex., Caden Harper of Rosenberg, Tex.; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother Charles Harper and wife Gwen of Carlisle, PA.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lali Harper; his parents; and two brothers, Glynn Harper and Freddie Carl Harper.
Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville. Brother David Goff will officiate. Burial will be at Bowden Cemetery in Pottsville where full military honors will be performed by the Marine Corps League, United States Air Force and Ken Harper. Pallbearers are Jason Blue, Jim Stroud, Kenneth Royal, Israel Arambula, Chase Ekstam, and Cory Stauffer. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Arkansas River Valley Gun Club.
