Winter Pond Aeration: to Aerate or Not to Aerate

Former Mohawk honored

Tim Huffman, a graduate of the Piggott High School Class of 1970 has been inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, of Hayward, Wisc., with noted television and ESPN host, Jimmy Houston making the presentation. Huffman first started writing articles on fresh water fishing in 1987.

Cougars suffer tough loss against Bay

From the Arkansas Democrat- Gazette came a quote from a noted coach. He said, “The bad news is that we lost the game. The good news is that we are not use to it.” Every time the Rector Cougars take the court, an expectation of victory fills the gym, fueled by the overall confidence of the team in themselves and their coaches. While the past several competition outcomes have not been what the Cougars and their fans are accustomed to, there is never any sense of dispair. It’s an anticipation of the next game that propels the players and fans.

Cougars win final home game against Manila

Rector’s basketball Cougars played their final home game on Tuesday night against the Manila Lions. There is something about leaving everything on the court, and that is what these senior Cougars did. The sweat, the tears, the confetticheers that happened for these guys over the span of their careers from junior high to the final game at home, the Cougars have always made the hometown fans proud. Cooper Rabjohn, Drew Henderson, Carter Hill, Ashton Scott, and Caleb Manning played their final game as seniors at home.

Senior night held at Rector High School

Friday night Feb. 2, the Cougar basketball games were the backdrop for honoring the seniors involved with the cheerleading squad, the boys and girls basketball Cougars. Karrin Henderson and Emma Holmes served as announcers for the presentation.

Scholarships available for Arkansas students

Scholarships are now available for eligible Arkansas students through Arkansas Community Foundation. The Community Foundation’s scholarships are for Arkansas students pursuing education at twoor four-year colleges or universities, vocational schools or technical training programs.
